40- The seal of God or the Mark of the Beast?

There is a tendency to believe the mark of the beast is a microchip or some sort of biometric device implanted in the human body. While there is such a device already in use, the mark of the beast is much more than that. The real mark of the beast is a spiritual mark that is received as a result of going against God, His law and His Commandments. Of course a chip or an ID card will probably be used by the beast system to keep track of people in the end times. This technology can be used to stop those of us who refuse the mark of the beast from “buying and selling”. (Rev. 13:17)
We are told in Revelation 13:16 the Mark is to be forced on all in the right hand or in the forehead. “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:”

I believe the mark on the forehead is a choice we have already made. It is the expression of a carnal mind engaged in self-seeking egotistical pursuits. The forehead which is the front of our brain is where our thoughts and decisions are made. The hand represents our actions. God’s people have the mark of God’s law in their hands and foreheads, they are keeping God’s commandments in their minds and spirit through their thoughts, prayers , decisions and actions. ‘This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them.’ Hebrews 10:16

While the mark of the beast on the forehead is the result of an expression of worship to the beast, the mark on the right hand is doing the work of the beast. The work of serving the beast system is a consequence of that choice we made on a spiritual level which will trick people to line up to receive an implant. The carnal mind has no faith and no way of knowing the protection of God in the end time. It does not trust God to provide food and essentials in a time of famine and war. We see in the following verse in Revelation 13:17, the tragedy of people selling their soul to the Devil in order to purchase food and be part of the world’s beast system: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Clearly God is separating the wheat from the tar and is giving the mark of the beast to all who elevates self above God, all who trust in themselves more than they trust God. This mark is received as a result of self-glorification and rebellion against His authority. It is already taken by many and people don’t realize and don’t even notice they have turned away from God and they have already chosen death instead of eternal life. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21

The result of receiving this mark is described in Revelation 14:9-10 :”And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.”

I see so many people and yes also so many christians on that path of destruction and I see so much confusion between what belongs to God and what belongs to man. Self-gratification versus self-denial. Seeking self-knowledge and self-realization is the opposite of seeking God. Yet this self-seeking knowledge is presented as the ultimate path to God.

If we look back at what happen in the garden of Eden and the event triggering the fall of mankind, we see that Adam and Eve disobeyed God when they ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve knew only happiness. God had given them all they needed, located them in a beautiful garden of delights, and placed only one restriction on them: Don’t eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

As they already knew good, eating from this tree would provide only knowledge of calamity, grief, and sorrow. Today we see the same worldly doctrine being taught and embraced everywhere by the multitudes. The knowledge of good and evil is deciding for ourselves what is good and what is evil instead of listening to the Lord and doing what God has told us to do. Only in reading the Word of God, the bible do we know His will and commandments for our lives. ‘Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.’ Revelation 14:12
The doctrine of knowing and deciding good from evil is as deadly now as it was back then with our ancestors. It is at the root of all separation with God. It is making ourselves little gods, as good as God, replacing His Authority in making up our own rules and regulations.

Have you notice how people are so sure of themselves? They are so sure of what they know, they trust themselves more than they trust God. They reason and lean on their own understanding, they listen to themselves more than they listen to the Holy Spirit.
The modern thinking that we must love ourselves first before we can love anyone else is a deceptive belief. It is in our natural tendency to think of ourselves more than we think of others. The love of self develops as a natural attribute since early childhood, no need to work at that.
On the other hand spiritual maturity in Christ demands we humble ourselves and that we seek to think only of God and others.
Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

The elevation of self through the pursuit of knowledge leads to vanity and illusion of grandeur. This leads to think of oneself as important, motivating the cultivation of an inflated personality. Did you notice how people hold on to their ideas and belief system? Do you witness people fighting to be right? They have built themselves a tower which have become a prison. They don’t know they are enslaved with their materialistic thinking. They do not know true humility and true repentance.
John 12:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Too often people confuse righteousness with self-righteousness. When we give power to the personality, we tend to think we are right and others are wrong. We hold on to this illusion of being a somebody and we argue with others to defend our perceived “righteousness”.
Luke 9:23 “And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
The less we think of ourselves the more useful to God we are. Christ was our example of the life He expects for us. He denied Himself to the point of dying on a terrible cross for the sins of other people. Had He thought for even one moment about Himself, He never would have obeyed His Father and gone to that cross.

Romans 12:1 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

“Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Ephesians 5:21

It is difficult to submit to one another when we are busy thinking of ourselves, preoccupied with our own arguments instead of listening to others.
Submitting to one another is the ability to let go of our perceived righteousness, to acknowledge our weakness and short comings when in relationship with our brothers and sisters. As Christians we should kindly treat each other in a humble and loving way, we should be quick to forgive and quick to ask for forgiveness.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  Psalm 133:1

In Daniel 12:4, we read :

“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. “
We are in the end time and knowledge everywhere is indeed increasing. Unfortunately most knowledge is not useful for the kingdom of God because knowledge increase egotistical illusions and lead to spiritual vanity. Some knowledge such as building a house or growing food is of course useful but I believe the knowledge mentioned in Daniel 12:4 is the perverted belief of thinking we know better and we don’t need to follow God’s commandments.
When we do that we effectively remove God from our live and we are in turn banished by God from the garden of Eden. We receive the mark of the beast because if we don’t belong to God then we belong to Lucifer.
In helping to understand how knowledge actually creates spiritual bankruptcy, two of the 8 Beatitudes given by Jesus are most useful:
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5
To be poor in spirit is to recognize our utter spiritual bankruptcy before God. It is the opposite of thinking we know something. Humility versus pride.
It is understanding that we have absolutely nothing of worth to offer God. Being poor in spirit is admitting that, because of our sin, we are completely destitute spiritually and can do nothing to deliver ourself from our dire situation. Jesus is saying that, no matter our status in life, we must recognize our spiritual poverty before we can come to God in faith to receive the salvation He offers.

Before we can enter God’s kingdom, we must recognize the utter worthlessness of our own spiritual state and the inability of our own works to save us.
The carnal mind with his desire of recognition, power, and prestige is continuously feeding and building the cult of personality. This will only lead to death but the selflessness of the mind of Christ is leading to eternal life.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. John 2:15-17

Many good people have unknowingly taken the mark of the beast. If you are in love with the world and you strive to succeed with ambition to enjoy all the sensual pleasure society offers then you are on the broad way of destruction. The Love for the world pushes out the love for the Father. You can’t love the world and God at the same time because the love for God pushes out love for the world.
As Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money” (Matthew 6:24).

So don’t love the world, because that would put you in the class with the God-haters even if you think of yourself as a good loving christian. I see a lot of christians who say they love God but a the same time they love what is not of God. The love for the world can’t coexist with the love for God. To set your heart on a world that is passing away, is only asking for heartache and misery in the end.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14

The way to God is narrow and straight, but the broad way of the world is like a vast labyrinth, if you enter in too deeply you get lost and may never be able to get out of it.
If you love the world, you will perish with the world, but if you don’t love the world but love God, you will do his will and live with him for ever.
“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?…Matthew 16:25

Gaining the whole world and forfeiting our soul is the choice we make when we willingly take the mark of the beast according to where we put our faith in. On the other hand The Seal of God will bring to maturity all the good fruits of the Spirit and will give us supernatural protection and provision in the Tribulation ahead of us.

Be Watchful…..And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke 21:34-36
